jordan03
O.K I think I can take this............ This is my recently finished EA-6A from Revell. This was a quick build for me but I think it highlights what I need to work on. This is what I know is wrong with it: -air scoop is in wrong spot -broke and lost part of front landing gear (vacuumed up) -Probably over weathered (normal for me) -had problems attaching canopy -guilty of pre-shading I welcome helpful comments (help me help myself ) Thanks in advance -Brian Edited January 13, 2010 by jordan03
twong
Great looking build. I think the paint and weathering looks fine the way it is.
John B
Are those VMCJ-1 markings the kit decals from the recent re-release?
jordan03
You are correct John this is the re-issue, and I used the kit decals. It comes with two options for markings. -Brian
Benner
nice build overall, one minor thing I would do is paint the nav lights and landing gear door lights.
TF51GREGWISE
I like your weathering style (its alot like mine) But I would tighten up the pre shading and maybe add another light hide coat, maybe scuff and chip the boarding ladder, black out the IFR probe tip, blend in the touch up areas with a light dusting with a airbrush (starboard intake seam) and paint in the lights on the NLGD. Have you checked the height of your wing tips? I really like it, you have real talent and display artist craftsmanship.
Aigore
Don´t apologize for preshading, it´s just a technique among many and as such it can be combined with others and honed It´s a gorgeous build, maybe a tad over weathered Maybe try to use lighter washes and a few more thin coats of paint over the preshade and you´re home! Really well done! Cheers!
jordan03
Thanks guys for the input, sometimes it takes another set of eyes to see whats been missed or not well executed! I've had a tough time with raised panel lines as far as weathering goes, your suggestions make a lot of sense. What's your take on adding the pilots? Thanks again -Brian
POMPEO
great build jordan, i love the weathering cheers
alessio
Looks good to me...very nice.... love the weatering..even if sometimes i prefer a little bit less weatering... i have the same kit..and i'm still deciding to engrave the panel lines or not.... also i'm going to use the paragon wing fold set great build anyway.. i wish i could have the same model already done!!! ciao Alex
