RichardL
I'm looking for color info for the top and bottom of a Mirage F.1C in standard French camo. I did a search here but failed to find anything. I found French light blue gray and dark blue gray in Polly Scale acrylics, but I think those are more appropriate for the Mirage 2000. What colors is everyone using for the top and bottom of an F.1C? Thanks.
Murph
The closest match for the top color out of the bottle is the WWII British color PRU Blue. For the lower surfaces any aluminum paint will do. Regards, Murph
Laurent
I've read Intermediate Blue like Humbrol 144 on French sites.
FAAFAN
Xtracolour has a French Air Force blue appropriate for the modern F1 scheme.
RichardL
Thanks for all the replies. I was able to find XtraColor XOX377 Bleu de Mirage - Modern. Unfortunately, it's enamel. Hopefully I will be able to find the same color in acrylic.
SouthViper
Despite Xtracolours are great I have preferred to use Intermediate Blue, ANA ??? (DON'T REMEMBER) on my F-1 , with alluminiun undersides, close enough to the FS-17178. Good Luck. SouthViper
RichardL
French Mirage Blue is available in Vallejo acrylics, and I bought some bottles from Great Models Webstore in the U.S. That place carries a nice selection of hard to find paints.
frequent_flyer
Can I use this French Mirage Blue from Vallejo also for a Mirage 2000 or would a different color be more appropriate? Regards, frequent_flyer
RichardL
I would use French Light Blue Grey and French Dark Blue Grey from Polly Scale. Edit: added picture showing the different hues Edited January 27, 2010 by RichardL
