MESHER
I just picked up a Tamiya P-47M kit and have a question on the parts in the instructions. In step 3 they indicate to use the filet (part L12) that goes on the spine (sorry if that is not the correct term name for the peice) but on the sprue tree there are actually 3 filets but there is no mention of the other 2. Does anyone know what the other 2 are for?
Hal Marshman Sr
-M Jugs carried several styles of fin strake. The one that Tamiya picks out is the proper one for the bird the kit tenders to. You might be doing another T-Bolt, so be sure to check out the correct strake for your model choice. Some early Ms didn't have one at all. Hal Sr
Lock n' Load
Also... Tamiya did a snafu on the instruction with the Magnetos. You should use the hexagonal magneto pair that also comes with the kit,not the ones stated in the instructions.
Spitfire88
I found it weird also that this kit offers 3 different filets but the instructions tell you to use the same one for all 3 decal options. That is a bit weird that all 3 planes would have the same one, as Tamiya usually mixes the options up a bit.
TuveB
I think the two unused fillets are for N-1 and N-2. A new wing and cockpit and you have the N.
