Third Tomcat finished

Recommended Posts

Welcome Aboard ARC, Frank ....Good to have you here ... :woo:

Nice looking Tomcat ...

One note, the particular aircraft you've modeled was actually an F-14B, not an F-14A ...

Regardless, the colors look good on it .... :tease:

What sort of paint did you use for the jet exhaust? The paint pigment looks a bit... too coarse. I usually use Acrylic Gun Metal (Tamiya, normally). But lately, I'm gravitating more and more towards Model Master lacquer, especially their "buffing metalizer" range. Very cool metallic effect! The bottle says "airbrush use only" (or something to that effect), but I found a tip from a modelling club near my place that you can use a soft-bristled brush too. Check out the tip here: http://www.essmc.org.au/Natural_Metal_Finish.html

Nice lookin' Cat...which kit/scale is it?

Oh and Brett, nice work on your F-14 too.

Here's a you-tube treat for the Bones fans. On my old computer I get a few boot-up hiccups in the very beginning (just during the cat shot) but it plays nice n'smooth after that.

Go to full screen, crank the noise a little, and enjoy:

Great to see all these F-14's here lately!

John
