B-1 Nut
March 1, 1946 Major General Carl A. Spaatz is designated commander of the United States Army Air Force. Wikipedia's Carl A. Spaatz Biography March 1, 1925 Ryan Airlines begins the first regularly scheduled passenger airline service flown within the mainland United States. The flight was from San Diego, CA to Los Angeles, CA and cost $14.50 one-way and $22.50 round-trip. It doesn't sound like much money until you remember that was in 1925. To give you an idea, that is approximately $181.00 USD one-way and $281.00 USD round-trip in 2010 (adjusted only for inflation). An interesting side-note found in research: T.C. Ryan of Ryan Airlines had ties to Charles Lindberg...as he designed and built the "Spirit of St. Louis". Wikipedia Ryan Airlines History T.C.
