Hurricane363 Posted February 27, 2010 Share Posted February 27, 2010 Well here is my first attempt (as the title says) at a base for my first completed maritime model, the next base i will work on the waves (getting them more in scale) and change the colour slightly (add more grey to get a better sense of depth). tornado64 Posted February 28, 2010 Share Posted February 28, 2010 the waves are good in form and shape , you have reccognized the first problem it seems too blue greys , and greens work better , and there are lots of tones from reflectied light in the water for foam a good technique is winsor and newton artists acrylic medium with micro balloons mixed in to give a foam like texture as it is a paint mixing medium you can also mix acrylic paints in with it and you can sculpt to shape in this small scale have a look at the king of water effects works he uses casting resin and shows how he works on armorama jba water dioramas Quote Link to post Share on other sites
