artoor_k
Hello! After finishing my first plastic dino which was Velociraptor, also made by Lindberg (http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=195957) I I wanted to make another but bigger one...A few days ago ,a monster came from UK I bought a Tyrannosaurus on ebay.First thought was " Holy sh**, It's almost in size of a typical chicken!".Then I examined the parts of my new pet A few sink holes, not bad fit (but not good too),nice skin...And again,a lot of strange knobs on skin of dino...I wonder if the guys in Lindberg use to think that every dino had a pimples...Again, there is a need to drill out eyes and replace them with beads from necklace ...also the arms needs to be lenghten lengthened. Finally ,as Greg Ewald said on http://modelingmadness.com in his review of Lindberg T-rex: "the legs need to be heavily modified if you are going to make a Rex that doesn’t look like it just ate a bunch of burritos from the local taco joint, and can’t find the can". I want to make a T-rex in run like here:http://www.linkandpinhobbies.com/Graphics/pc_pred%20rex.jpg This means a lot of cutting, puttying and sanding but I think it can be a nice and fun build...Here is the upper part of head before drilling And here are eyes: I think about the camo and dind't decided yet...any suggestions? Zactoman
Very cool! I'll be watching this build with interest. Did you happen to see my T-Rex build in the Critique Corner? Grrraaarr!!! I loosely based my camo on the Jurassic Park movies. I recently found several nice books in the clearance section of a Borders Book store. I picked up the one I liked the best to use as future reference. Here's a site that may give you some inspiration: http://www.stannarts.net/smb/dinos.aspx Have fun! artoor_k
Hello! I decided to prepare all main parts before beginning modifications: Arms...waaay tooo shoooort...needed to be lenghtened... The sink mark (or rather sink CAVE) is AWESOME I've never seen deeper one :) The tongue was sanded... And finally...now these eyes are ALIVE! :)
artoor_k
Hello! When it comes to aircraft models we first see them, then usually looking into cockpit and wheel wells. And when we see a dino model? First overall look and then? Of course it dont't have wells, bays or even cockpit  So we look into mounth if it is open :) Today I was the dino-dentist :) I worket into mounth of Trex :) Red,drybrushing in flesh, tongue painted with orange and washed with dark red.Teeths are painted with sand. Will be drybrushed whited when dry. Here is the result: Critics and suggestions are welcomed :P
