Flyingraptor
Hey guys, I decided to start building on my 1/72 scale Tamyia F-4 1D Corsair kit. Wanted something shake 'n' bake now. :) Have some painting questions before starting... * What colour should I do the inside of the engine cowling? Interior Green, Navy Blue or Yellow (like the nose)? * And what about the inside of the landinggear doors and landinggear bays? Interior Green, Silver or Navy Blue? Regards, Jurgen Edited April 1, 2010 by Flyingraptor
Flyingraptor
LOL, really nobody that knows the answer? Can't be... Please some input, guys!
Jennings
Not sure about the cowling, but the gear bays were interior green and the struts were painted silver. I'd probably go with IG for the cowling too. The yellow was a temporary tactical marking carried for a matter of a couple of days in the spring of 1945. J
Flyingraptor
Thanks for the help, Jennings! Yeah, you mentioned it before, that the yellow was a temporary marking. But I like it a lot. Gives life to the all-blue model. Edited April 1, 2010 by Flyingraptor
Grey Beema
Search around on this site. I am sure there was a previous subject on USN colours in the last couple of months. I have a feeling tho (and definately in the Royal Navy) - the wheelwells were the underside colours. Thus Sea Blue or Sky (RN) depending on the underside colours. I think the interior cowl colours were dependent on the factory. Anyway search for the link in this forum...
