SpencerP
Hey everyone! Well' here it is, my version of the ESCI S-3 Viking in 1/48. As you can see, with a little TLC this very old kit can be made to look into a pleasing replica of a very graceful aircraft. The aircraft is finished as a CAG aircraft from VS-35 'Blue Wolves' and as such I've used a couple of bits of artistic licence, the first being to paint the wingtip ECM pods in black (they were finished in blue on an earlier incarnation of this aircraft and so I thought that it wasn't really a step too far...) and then the fixing of the refuelling probe in the extended position - which is very rarely seen on an aircraft on the ground. A very tight deadline has caught up with me and so other than some aerials under the fuselage and wings that are yet to be added, this one is done... I hope that you like it! drhornii
Great job and nice touch with the subtle weathering. You did turn a sows ear into a silk purse so to speak...or however that expression goes.
