After long time, i finally managed to complete something.... Model is Hasegawa, 1/48, with Aires cockpit, rest is OOB. Painted and weathered with gunze colors, metal areas are painted with Alclad color - mix of white and dark aluminium. All weathering is made with airbrush, no wash&co.....

Sorry for poor pictures....

It's a really nice try, the faded paint job looks great. But.

Those decals looks like they've been overpainted with black, they don't look weathered or sun faded. A very thinned layer of white would have been better, I think. The number "10" on the left side of the nose is also misaligned, you've put it on at an angle.

The large white numbers on top of the wings also look blackened, not really realistic.

Here's an example pic for you!

And another one..

Very cool Draken, thanks for sharing! Great, ambitious paint work.

Black weathering doesn't bother me. There was no limit to a Draken's filth:

The streaky, runny dirt pattern is really screaming for oil paint though, isn't it?

Did you paint the VHF dorsal antenna in a metal colour? It was actually made of fiber glass, its color varying from pale sand yellow to all sorts of dark, dirty brownish greens and greys, frequently with a black front edge. But no metal.

Isn't the pitot tube striped black and yellow on this version? I thought it was.

The rear landing gear bay doors do not drop at 90 deg. angle from the wing, like they seem to on your model. More like 110 deg.

Hasegawa, give us some missiles, damn it!! :jaw-dropping:

Thank you all for your comments....

I'm satisfied how this thing turned out, but, honestly, this "maybe little overkill" fading&shading are result of two things - painting with gunze acryl colors (i'm more enamel type, and i'm still learning how to achieve same effect with acrylics), and big mistake - i spill some thinner (laquer type) on finished model, just after mat coat.... of course, most of paint and decals on upper side was gone, some manage to surive, so i really didn't have much choice, but to try to paint and repair damaged area, and this type of fading was only way to hide that.....

Maybe little overkill, but, considering the circumstances, i'm very pleased and satisfied with this model....not a show-winner, but looks cool on shelf.... :beer4:

Voltaire> Yes...and, sadly...yes.... indeed i painted antenna in aluminium.... my mistake, i painted antennas on lower surface in aluminium, so i probaby painted this one too, and of course, i didn't look on pictures.... As for doors, carpet monster eat one of "levers" that holds door, so i need to make 4 identical levers, so i only glued doors with drop of glue....buit, honestly, if you didn't point me that out, there's big chance that this error will never be corrected.... Thank you!
