dylan
so i finally found a practical use for adel clamps around the house. I have hundreds of these things cluttering up my toolbox so a few of em won't be missed. anyone who has the DETOLF display cabinet from Ikea knows that it could use a few extra shelves. so here is my solution. first tighten the clamp around the steel frame bit then take a piece of plexiglass that has been professionally fitted to the case aaaaannnnndddd voila!!! you have awesomeness i'll be adding the other two later but you can see the difference in the space between the original and the new one
dylan
a few more shots of the birds in the case

is it windy yet?
I've done something similar, but actually welded new steel rods into mine and added four glass shelves. Either way it is a great improvement to the basic case. Makes it much more practical for displaying models, good idea Dylan. Mine and my son's case (his is unmodified) Side view of the extra shelves Lower side view of extra shelves The case now holds about 55 finished 1:48 models. Edited April 18, 2010 by is it windy yet? HOLMES
Dylan and Is it Windy yet, GREAT idea and useful suggestions..... By the way both of you have a GREAT set of collections of models...
crazydon
I'm going to have to do that down the road. I threw away all my old models when I moved a couple years ago so now I'm just starting to fill 2 shelves on 1 of the 2 I bought for my models, and all of the ones for my camera collection
