Just starting in on the ICM 1/48 Yak-7 from the Normandie Neimen 3-in-one set.

The plastic of the fuselage is very different from the usual uber soft ICM stuff. It's translucent and brittle and makes me think that I might have some work cut out for me.

But first things first. Cockpit and engine are up next.

Starting dry fitting of the wings.

One side looks ok with a little bit of force applied via a pony tail holder.

The other side will take a little bit more work...kinda big gap.

Yak is done.

I used some spare decals from an after market kit which were for a Yak-7, but not the trainer version. Kinda bent the rules a bit I suppose, but at least the airframe is a legit trainer. Couldn't stand to see good decals go to waste.

I didn't glue down the top engine cowling - the engine compartment isn't detailed but nice to be able to pop it off.
