Jennings
After building aircraft for the US military for almost 90 years, Boeing is apparently no longer capable of painting a US national insignia with correct proportions or colors on an aircraft... FlyingSnowmew
I think that would be the least of their worries. That being able to fly would take top priority.
Wayne S
Hard to tell with that picture.
Jennings
Hard to tell with that picture. Not really. The proportions are all out of whack. Believe me - I've drawn enough of them <_< J
Kalashnikov-47
Not really. The proportions are all out of whack. Believe me - I've drawn enough of them J Not only that, but the blue looks a pale to my eyes...
terryt
What about the font on the USAF, it looks like its Arial not the Amarillo style we're use to. The Bars on the insignia look too long.
Kalashnikov-47
HOLY CRAP! TRUMPETER DECALS!!!
GreyGhost
I'm sure that was what Mission Control was worried about as the countdown dropped to '5' ... Bob - "What about the National Insignias being all wrong ?!?" Bill - "The what now ?" Gregg
RedHeadKevin
But the question is: If someone releases a kit of the X-37B, will they include the correct incorrect decals? Or will they use a "correct" stars'n'bars?
Waco
I must be stupid. What exactly is wrong with these?
Aussie_superbug
Not really. The proportions are all out of whack. Believe me - I've drawn enough of them J AHH......... Cunumdrum61
They had to fire the engineers to keep the program on track, so they probably fired the graphic artists also. Edited April 24, 2010 by Cunumdrum61
Jennings
What exactly is wrong with these? The bars are about 25% too big, making the proportions of the whole insignia all wrong. There is a very precise geometrical formula for laying out every part of the US insignia. And this ain't it. J
MarkW
Yeah, but did the top secret thing do its top secret mystery mission? Maybe the messes up insignia was for "culpable deniability".

Waco
Okay...I guess I just don't see it. It looks like a normal, oversized US roundel to me...
MarkW
Worst. Rocket pron. Ever. I knew they were going to cut right before the money shot, but a cartoon!?
Berkut
Worst. Rocket pron. Ever. I knew they were going to cut right before the money shot, but a cartoon!? And you expected live footage of the separation of that thing?
Murph
I must be stupid. What exactly is wrong with these? It's botched, jacked, screwed, puppy milled. Regards, Murph Edited April 24, 2010 by Murph
Waco
It's botched, jacked, screwed, puppy milled. Ah yes, that explains it all perfectly. Thanks very much.
MarkW
And you expected live footage of the separation of that thing? Of course. It's a super mysterious space plane on a top secret mission. The tease was how they pulled the camera back so it was an indistinct blob in the first place, making you think, ok, its far enough away I can't make out the botched, jacked, screwed, puppy milled stars and bars. But then they still cut to cartoon. It is almost as if the govt is hiding something...
Jonathan_Lotton
It is almost as if the govt is hiding something... .. .....really? One differently painted national insignia and that now = conspiracy? Keep the tin foil for the kitchen..not for hats.

Nighthawk117
Maybe Boeing was afraid that someone might sue them for Copyright Infringement on the US Roundel and the font, so they used their own design and font... But yeah, looks photoshopped to me. Edited April 25, 2010 by Nighthawk117
