What have you guys found is the easiest way to put on dry transfers as far as aligning the text to be straight lines. For example, I want to put the text "www.XXXXXXXXXXX.com on the side of a fuselage, where x is the company name, and no its not all x's. :)

Thanks for the help.

Since I'm no good at aligning dry transfers either, what I do is burnish the stuff I want onto clear decal film (don't even try to align it, too frustrating) then coat the sheet with clear gloss (I use rattle-can lacquer, tape the corners of the sheet down first so it doesn't curl when wet) and then cut close to each individual letter/number and apply them individually like regular decals, that way you can slide 'em around all day long until you're happy.

They usually settle down pretty good with warm water and/or Solvaset but on occasion I've had to touch-up a few of the little decal corners with paint. On the rounded letters/numbers it helps if you can clip the corners a little while still on the paper. Trim the clear film away as close to each letter/number as you can, because it's much easier to slide them into into alignment if they can move freely of one another.

When burnishing the dry transfers onto the decal paper, leave enough room to trim all around each item later, because when you coat the sheet a little of the clear overcoat may seep in at the very edges forming a strong bond between the film and the backing paper which takes forever to soak apart...ask me how I know!

I burnish with a dull pencil so I can see where I've burnished.

Then, of course, topcoat the whole model when done.

Hope this helps...

Hi, I've done this by aligning the leters on the stiky side of a piece of scotch tape then you just stik the tape with the letters where you want to transfer them. Hope this help
