modelmax
Great job on your mig Ernie, I can't wait to see it on Saturday. Thanks Xavi, I look forward to seeing you at the meeting also...If you can, bring your two tomcats. I'll like to see your progress. that is just beautiful. I love how scheme, and your weathering looks good too. Thank you for your positive comments RKic. Bang Up Job! Looks fantastic. How did you go about doing the metal chipping? Thanks for the kind words twhite... I had wanted to try the metal chipping using silver & pewter color pencils...a techinque I've seen applied here with awesome results. I tried it on a few areas, but was very dissapointed with the results. I erased it with a 'white' eraser, and then tried it again with Testor's silver enammel. It can get messy sometimes, but if it is done carefuly, it comes out OK. I was going for a subtle paint chipping effect, but ended up overdoing it a bit (it's easy to do)....I ended up liking it anyway. thanks for looking. Ernie A.

modelmax
so amazing built MiG-15. congratulation!it's lovely for me since I'm from Hungary did you know the Hungarian name of MiG-15 is "Sas" means Eagle? Greetings Richard. Thanks for the encouraging feedback. I really appreciate it. A friend from my modeling club got me the profile for this aircraft and I loved it. Just had to do it for this build. I had to use "artisic liscence" for cockpit color & wheel wells (just couldn't find specific info on this bird). In the end, I'm happy with the way it came out. By the way, my buddy who provided me with this profile, his wife is form Hungary also. They make anual trips to visit her family. In fact, couple of years ago, they made it to an airshow at Kecskemet Fighter Base in central Hungary. My buddy took a ton of pictures, including one of a mig-21 which I fell in love with.... It was all colored in yellow w/shark mouth on front fusselage and fuel tank (Red 1904)...couldn't tell from pictures if this is a Hungarian plane, but would shure like to know if there are decals for this bird in 1/48 on your side of the world? anyways, thanks again for your comments.
