pookie
Hey guys. I am building a batch of the fujimi 1/48 T-38 ( I know, I know... ) and I would like to replace the kit's wheel/tire combo. If there is not such a thing, is there a close replacement for them? It does not have to be 100% accurate , I just don't like the tiny wheel tire for the nose landing gear. Jennings
There aren't many a/c that have such skinny, low-profile, high pressure tires. I don't know that I've ever seen anything that would come close, either size-wise or detail wise. Wouldn't it be nice if someday, in our wildest dreams, we actually had decent kits of all of the USAF's family of trainers? Start with the T-28 and go through the T-33, T-37, T-38, etc.. Someday. pookie
Yeap! I sort of knew that, but I was hoping for a miracle. OK, so scratch build the things I will. Thanks Mr. J
Ben Brown
Maybe we need to start pestering Doug to do some... after he finsihes the F-4 conversions and early F-100 wheels, of course! Ben
dsmith
Yeah, F-4 and F-100 stuff first :) Man, I need some magical casting elves..... Cheers, -Doug :)
drhornii
Yeah, F-4 and F-100 stuff first :) Man, I need some magical casting elves.....Cheers, -Doug :) Aren't you far enough North where the elves are? :) I bet you can find some Elf temp agency......before the Christmas rush. Good luck on the wheels, I would like to have a set for my Sword kit but I can modify those to get close. As for a decent set of trainers, they need to be done in 1/32 scale since they are so small. We cannot forget the T-6 Texan I & II in the list.....

I've been hoping for some T-38 main gear wheels, and both style of nose wheels for a long long time. That Sword kit really need them! Fred K.
