vvac201
Question fer the computer folks!!! I upgraded to Win 7 a few months back from Win xp, and I have a VERY large folder called Windows.Old and it's 90gig!!! Do I need this file or can I put it in the circular file??? Thanks, Jason ps... Reason for asking, thinking about getting an SSD for the computer, and the one I'm looking at is 80g.
Phartycr0c
Jason, you can happily delete the OLD file without ill effects on Windows 7. It is a copy of the Windows XP installation which is, for want of a better term, incompatible with win 7. Win 7 is based on Vista architecture and Vista itself was a totally new O/s (with some boring exceptions) with little in common with Win XP. SO delete away and enjoy your 90Gb of space freely! model_madness
Dont forget to do regular defrags too tho :) A nice piece of trail software you may want to play with. > http://www.perfectdisk.com/home defrags as well as optimises the placement of commonly used files as well as moving system files like MFT to front of drive.
