Tomcat RIO
the kit it's a horror with a capital H. i've built it OOB and it is the 2nd worst kit i have ever built. here is the cockpit. the fuselage assembly is so horrendous. i will need placard and epoxy putyy. seriously they should stop selling this kit on the shevles. give people loss of hair and cause vulgarity syndrome.. Tomcat RIO
i used my trusted 2part epoxy putty to fill the gaps my goodness some of the gaps just leave me bewildered. this is only the first layer that has hardened. a 2nd one of mix of epoxy and tamiya putty will be needed. front fuse top spine area tail tail underside intake and side fuse blending intake undersides man i feel like the russian pilot who wants to defect to japan and the land of good model kits.. Tomcat RIO
i sanded down starting with 120 grit!, 400 grit, 800 then 1500 grit sandpaper.. started with the vertical stabs. added silvers of placard and epoxy, superglued it up. and tamiya putty
Tomcat RIO
first in rescribed the panel lines using pencil markings and a scriber tool added undercarraige stuff plugged the wing and fuselage tab gap with placard and putty dark grey on tail fins and nose sprayed and masked. a light grey coat was misted gradually over the plane riveting added and panel line washed [

Andre
Nice work on a crappy kit! These gaps are big enough to fly a Cessna 172 through... ;-) Cheers, Andre
haneto
Nice idea and great progress so far! But isn't the Foxbat a recon type? Well, maybe there's no need to be too serious about that crappy kit,as the atmosphere is always the most important in a diorama. Keep up the good job!! Cheers, Yufei

Cheers, Yufei hi yufei, love your russian kits too! yes i know the picture from the ACIG and online shows a mig-25RB version, but i only had this kit available from the stash and didn't want to kill my wallet getting a condor/icm kit and then an aftermarket resin. and i did consider converting the longnose but after the first round pf puttying the gaps i gave up. IIRC iraq still had some mig-25 fighter variants alongside the RBs. 1 of these shot down f-18s during desert storm.. so i made mine in the markings of one of those. not entirely truthful, but those aircraft may also be under the desert sands once upon a time.. Pirata
Excellent work on a kit that I'm not brave enough to touch! The chrome wheels on the front end loader look out of place though.

catcow1234
Wow, your doing a great job on that kit! What a poor kit to start with. I'm not sure if I would have had the patients to carry on. Nice build
