72linerlover Posted June 24, 2010 Share Posted June 24, 2010 Hi all. Frequently it occurs that people ask questions, specially in the Tools 'n' Tips forum, that have already been answered. Not a real problem. If I can, I answer, if not, I say nothing, but someone waits for a long time. Many don't use the search feature in the forum, that can sometimes be a little tricky. Others don't search in the ARC Tools 'n' tips page, so put the questions and wait. That said, would it be possible to make a search engine restricted to the Tools 'n' Tips page that redirects to the proper article among those that are listed in that section or to the ARC RMS FAQ.? Just to explain: in a text box I type: "NMF, or "OLD PAINTS" and I find a list of articles related to these subjects. I know there is a Google search in ARC website and it works great, but it refers to all articles; what I mean is a search only through the modeling techniques subjects. Absent that, there is an advanced search page where you can restrict your search to one part of the forum. Use the "Search Where" list on this page: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....ode=adv&f=0 I've always said that the search feature is the most underused resource of this and any other forum. Like the tools on our workbenches, the best and most well-informed modelers will learn how to use the search feature just as they've learned to use sandpaper or an airbrush. That is what the search is for on the bottom left of the page. It can search the forum you are in, and while in a Topic, that search engine will change to search with in the topic only.
