neca12
I'm building Eduard's 1/72 Fokker Dr1, and I don't know how to get this paint effect on fuselage and on wings? http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2267/252376..._245d437241.jpg http://thevintageaviator.co.nz/files/image....screensize.jpg http://www.fajga.pl/modele/fokker_dr_1_eduard_46.jpg Is is it just a wood graining effect with oil colors? greatgonzo
This is the way fabric was painted by Fokker. As the last picture is of the model made by a friend of mine, Wojtek Fajga, I can tell he solved the problem by producing himsef some decals.

baronred3
Hello there, I use the dry brush way 1) paint base color (airbrush) 2) put your a small amont of streking color on a square of paper towel about the size of a nickel. 3)with a 1/8' flat brush pick up some paint on the end. now wipe off some on the paper towel with a brushimg motion until its to your liking 4)now go to it on the plane! light streaks are best ,you can go over them again to darken them to your satisfaction. Kalashnikov-47
There's a guy that sells decals for that on ebay. 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales. Can't remember the seller's ID, but the decal brand name is Gunsight Graphics. I have the 1/32 decals and they look good. Paid $15 for mine, but the smaller scales are less money. I recommend them.
