As you may know, I've been stuck on my P-47D-15-RE 42-76167 because I was unable to find the individual aircraft letter for that particular bird. I'm modeling that one because it is the airplane that 2Lt George Kelly went down in on 24 April 1944, and I happen to own one of Lt. Kelly's uniforms and his Advanced Flight Training yearbook. I just got an email from the 362nd FG Association confirming that Mr. Kelly is still alive and living in my home state of NY!
