I'll take a look at the gun vents - it's something I know nothing about...

Clave, here is the gun vents in question ...

>>> Prototype and Early Muzzle <<<

>>> Early Production style Vents <<<

>>> Early Production Vents, Again <<<

>>> Mid Production Style Vents <<<

>>> Last Style, "NACA" Vents <<<

The thing about the vents are, late in the Tomcat's Service, All three of the main styles of vents could still be found in use as late as the early 2000s ... So, references need to be checked ...

I hope that helps some ...

That helps a lot!

So let me see if I am on the right track now...?

Early type:

Single row of slots, short gun fairing, no 'intake' type vents.

Early Production 1:

Seven 'blocks' of slots, longer gun fairing, no 'intake' type vents.

Very Cool !

Bill, I've always been kind of fond of that Diamondbacks scheme ... :yahoo:

Gregg

I was drawing all those little diamonds on the nose and wing edge, and thinking that it was pretty nice (if annoying) but I wish they had made more of the fin marking though - it seems a little weak compared to other units...?

Well, that was their first Tomcat scheme after transitioning from Phantoms ...

I like the tailcode within the diamond more so than the snake and globe logo style that they later switched to and are using now with the Super Hornets ...
