dekon70
I have an older version of the RM 1/48 B-29; it comes with the cuffed props and want to build it with the uncuffed props. I know the newer boxing of the kit comes with the uncuffed props. Does anyone know of any AM manufacturer of the uncuffed props? Thanks.
CrowTRobot
I too have an old boxing of the B-29, and I was able to get the new Hamilton Standard props by simply requesting them from the Revell USA website. The part number for these props is 54, and the kit number is 85-5711.

jester292
Did the WWII B-29s have the cuffed props? I don't much care for the Korean birds. Aaron
muswp1
No, the WWII birds for the most part had uncuffed props. I think the only B-29's that had cuffed props in WWII were the atomic bombers in the 509th. Postwar, the B-29's all got the cuffed props.
moeggo
Does any manufactures make replacement engines for these?
terryt
Does any manufactures make replacement engines for these? Roll Models has the R3350 engine you can use in the 1/48 scale B-29. Just go to their website and do a search for the part number. Only the Silverplate B-29's had the Curtiss Electric "cuffed" propellersin the WWII era. Regular production B-29's came with Hamilton Standard Hydromatic propellers. Some time after WWII, cuffs were added to the Hamilton Standard propellers but I don't know if it was before Korea, during or after.

I refuse to purchase anything from Roll Models The owner of Engine & Things Passed away awhile back and whatever you see in stock at Roll Models is probably the last of the line. If you want one Roll Models is the last hope. I just checked Great Models Web store, no luck on the R-3350.
