Jennings
In addition to their new 1/144 KC-135E, Minicraft are going to be doing a 1/144 Convair 340/440/C-131 Samaritan (and possibly other variants). I'm helping them with research on both, and have recently come across a trove of Convair tech data from which to work. The design stage hasn't started yet, but here's hoping the Convair and the KC will match the DC-8 and MD-80 kits! More news as it happens.. J
Trojan Thunder
Nice to see we have the 135 expert on the job J! Looking forward to the Convairs as well. Edited August 10, 2010 by Trojan Thunder
Thrushcom
Saw the 135 on the Minicraft stand at the Nationals. Thought it looked really good. Supposed to be doing all variants. Chris

I'm not sure what you saw on their stand, but their kit doesn't exist yet. It's still a paper exercise. It remains to be seen (based on sales - which is up to YOU!) which variants will be done. I seriously doubt they'll do "all" variants, since at last count there were near or over 50 different ones J
Ben Brown
They'll definitely release the KC-135A. Right after I finish my Welsh kit. Can a Convair 340 be converted to a 240, or were they two completely different animals, like the ERJ170/190? Gotta be easier than beating the Sasquatch 240 into submission. Jennings
Completely different animals. Not saying it's impossible, but there are major differences in the wings, tail, and fuselage. J

Is that some other -135 kit (Welsh, Revell??) built up just to highlight the 135, or is it some sort of test shot? Jonah
Mark S.
Jennings: Would be nice if the other variants include the CV580 in Allegheny markings. Mark
