Netz
Not a plastic model but an HO Train car, brass, but $936.00, I can't think of anything comparable in scale modeling, not even a oop Cutting Edge, or Sol Su-27 conversion that draws that kind of money, the thing had better start up and lift something... http://www.ebay.com/itm/150696015712#ht_500wt_1203 Curt
IrishGreek
This one is not quite to the level of some of the others, but I can regularly find this for $20, so why over $60 + shipping??? I mean yes, it is a P-61. But it is only 1/72 scale too. P-

DPD1
My link Really? I'll never understand people on ebay. You give them a fair starting price and they don't touch it. You start it at a few bucks, and they bid it up to some ridiculous level that's ten times higher than it's worth.
Browning
A true test of just how much one loves the old Hawg. I know it's out of print for the moment, but still! It better scratch-build me a pretty snazzy cockpit for this price..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Modern-Hog-Guide-A-10-Warthog-Exposed-A-10C-/350477533418?pt=US_Nonfiction_Book&hash=item519a16c0ea
Sebastian Haff
Not that I begrudge the money, but I just sold a Classic Airframes Westland Whirlwind for $125. Wow. I started the bid at $14.99. Now, I do have two more. What to do?Hmmm....

Sebastian Haff
Offer one to the next bidder for the same price? :D Ha! Not a bad idea. A movie quote comes to mind: "Fetish properties are not unlike *********. My father, a major model railroader (does G scale in his basement - www.wvrr.ca) has a few brass HO engines and they're very much valued in those price ranges. Not something you run on tracks but keep for investments. Check out some of the prices on http://www.brasstrains.com/ Some of these engines are over 2 grand.

Model-Junkie
Holy cow, I was watching that auction but gave up once it hit the $35 mark. If I remember correctly the kit only included an extra small sprue or two for the hump and some of antennae parts.

If I remember correctly the kit only included an extra small sprue or two for the hump and some of antennae parts. Looking at mine right now it's 7 white metal parts and the decals. Otherwise it's your standard S-3A with raised panels and all.

breadneck
They claim it to be non-fictious! Oh, i dont know...supposed to be rare & O.O.P. i guess. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MACCHI-MC-200-202-205-Saetta-Folgore-Veltro-Italian-Air-Force-C-Aero-Detail-15-/221158135325?pt=US_Nonfiction_Book&hash=item337e0d561d On the flip side, the lowest i ever did see was two MISB Heller kits i claimed from a seller in Phoenix. Please note the sick shipping charges!!! Needless to say, i asked the seller to "keep the change" (on the shipping ofcourse) http://www.ebay.com/itm/200843215612?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 http://www.ebay.com/itm/200843219808?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 To add some intrigue, i actually went ahead and bought an upgrade set for that Helldiver from Starfighter decals. It was the resin upgrade set and the engine upgrade set valued at right around 30US! Somewhere deep down inside of me, i just felt i could afford it :-) Edited January 2, 2013 by breadneck
