iaf-man
although i remember vaguely one existed somewhere
Andre
Whatever the specific comparison, they will basically all boil down to "Go with the RoG". ;-) The Trumpeter kit is seriously wonky shapewise in a number of area's, especially around the rear. Cheers, Andre
Supertom
Hi IAF-man, I've seen both kits and when it came down to the decision to buy, I went with the Revell kit. It's a lot more detailed and better priced.
C-130CrewChief
I haven't seen either, but you can't beat the price of the ROG kit! That sells me!! Curt
Huey Gunner
Without seeing either kit. I have the 1/32 Revell Tornado. That's the best kt for the buck I have ever bought.
iaf-man
Thanks guys!!! It still beats me-how RoG keeps their prices reasonable, while others go wild. Probably the same Chinese are working for all of them
Wild Weasel V
Did you search for Typhoon? I believe this is the thread you may be thinking of: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....&hl=typhoon
flanker76
Thanks guys!!! It still beats me-how RoG keeps their prices reasonable, while others go wild. Probably the same Chinese are working for all of them Have a look here http://reddogmodels.blogspot.it/2012/11/132-ef-2000-revelltrumpeter-comparison.html
dehowie
The Revell kit wins but dont think you are getting anything cheap. You will need a pile of Resin as its normal fare these days for Revell to out out flawed kits for cheap prices. Kit has hopeless panel lines many need rescibing plus intakes..burner dans..cockpit..pylons..decals. Cheap and almost nasty pretty typical if todays Revell.
Laurent
It still beats me-how RoG keeps their prices reasonable, while others go wild. Because Revell is also a distributor ?
Bobski
Just to summarise a few of the problems with the Trumpeter kit: The windscreen and canopy are wrong and don't leave enough gap to the nose radome The FLIR is wrong The cockpit is wrong The seat is wrong The vents just above and behind the intakes are wrong The wing-tip defensive aids pods are wrong The weapons pylons are wrong The rear fuselage is wrong The engine exhausts are undersized None of these are easy fixes, if indeed they could be fixed at all. Revell's kit has its issues, but you can get one of those plus the resin to fix it for the same price as a Trumpeter kit, which still needs the resin thrown at it to correct some (but not all) of the issues with it.
