1/48th Tamiya Lancaster, Mark I, RAF Squadron 101

Just saw this from your WIP thread on the general forum.

Chuck - this is just a masterpiece. I especially like the weathering. You are about the only guy that seems to understand how beat up these aircraft were and were able to replicate that on a model.

I find it comical when I see a model of a WW2 bomber or fighter with 50 mission marks, sporting a pristine paint job and at best some token exhaust staining or chipping of paint on the wing leading edge.

Great job.

My friend Alex at Hellenic Modelers (http://www.helmo.gr) who is an expert at Photoshopping images, just sent me this pic of my build. Wow! I can actually hear the Merlin engines!.....

Chuck,

Looking at this SUPERB photo done by your friend just make it come ALIVE

AND puts the tribute build into perspective...You cannot tell that this is A MODEL...

Gives the feel that it is on a misison and or maybe come back from a sortie...

EXCELLENT...[/size]

HOLMES{ WHO thinks and knows you build SOME OUTSTANDING models ! }:) :worship::worship::worship:
