German F-4F

Recommended Posts

This is the Hasegawa 1:48 F-4F that I built OOB except for the decals. I used the Eagle Strike decals to model it as the 35th Anniversary jet of JG 72. The decals went on great, but if I were to ever build another I would probably cut the horses up into smaller pieces to make it a little easier.

I am not sure if I got the blue right. In every picture of the jet that I have seen, the blue is a little different shade. I finally went with the small testors glass bottle simply labeled blue. It looked good to me. I hadn't used Testors paints since I used to brush paint them straight from the bottle as a kid. They definitely work better with some thiner and an airbrush. I was pleasantly suprised.

Thanks for looking

Els

All,

Thanks for all the positive feedback. It is definitely the most colorful F-4 on my shelf.

Holmes,

This is a close up of the base. I hope the info is correct, I basically just took the info from the decal instruction sheet. I used Microsoft Power Point to put some verbage and a couple of pictures to cover up the wooden plaque. Power Point works pretty good for small graphics jobs like this and it is very easy/quick.
