Lt. Bill Skinner

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a bit of information, and haven't found on the net yet.

I am looking for the two types of aircraft that Lt. William "Bill" Skinner of the 308th FS, 31st FG, at Castel Volturno, Italy, scored his two aerial kills against, while he was flying Spitfire Mk.VIII "Lonesome Polecat".

I think that I have found the two dates that he scored on, 29th Jan '44 & 12th Feb '44

Cheers!

I have MANY photographs and MUCH information about Bill Skinner in a book called Bomber Command/Fighter Command. He submitted most of the photos himself. I will browse through tomorrow and let you know what I can find. He also includes many narratives and written entries.

Bill Skinner was my grandfather. Do either of you know where I can access the photographs and narratives he posted? I am looking to aggregate as many of them as possible. Thanks for your help
