Vulgar Vulture
Just received the Trumpeter TU-95 yesterday. Model is very impressive but a bit smaller than I'd anticipated. I'm a long time model airplane guy, R/C, Control-Line and Free Flight, just getting back into the plastic models after a very long hiatus! I've researched my Grandfathers B-24 that he flew out of Italy in WWII and just bought the Monogram B-24 to be done in the colors of his squadron. (Hence my forum name and signature) as well as a P-47, P-38 and P-51 that will be done up in the squadron colors that escorted his bomber. Apparently he did 38 missions. Interesting side note: Research shows that he was escorted on more than one mission by the 332nd FG (Tuskeegee Airmen) and one mission where Lt. George McGovern was his co-pilot! I got all this info from the National Archives in College Park MD. There's some very interesting stuff there that I'll post along with pics of the completed aircraft.
