11bee
Have they decided what model of F-15 they are getting? I thought they were getting a version of the Strike Eagle with an upgraded radar (but not as upgraded as the kit on the Israeli Eagles).

strikeeagle801
So, according to another article I was looking at, the F-15SA is going to be similar to the F-15K...including such things as the Tigereye IRST and GE engines. It does not sound like it is going to be the Silent Eagle like some people were thinking. According to globalsecurity, they will also be upgrading the F-15S's they alredy have to the SA standard. jbrundt
Have they decided what model of F-15 they are getting? It will be a 'fly-by-wire' Eagle as well. No more mechanical flight control linkages..... The USAF never wanted to pay for that upgrade because it would have meant less money for the F-22. Externally it will look like an F-15E but the insides will be very different.

Les / Creative Edge Photo
Uh,are they really? Here is the thing. If Saudi Arabia were to have democratic elections it surely would be taken over via those elections by hard core Islamist's most likely of the Wha habi sect. It would then become the Republic of Arabia. Now if democracy in places like Saudi Arabia and others similar to it is the end game we must be prepared to accept the election of a government(s) who may not be so open and progressive and could after attaining power cancel democracy. This is the fine edge we as worldly nations must walk when we deal with nondemocratic and generally more regressive nation states. States that run more on a religious ideological bent and/or a tribal, social cultural bent to governance are those that must be viewed with the most suspicion. The Saudi Kingdom noted here is one where we dance with the devil we know and not the one we don't. Bring democracy to Saudi Arabia and a host of other nations without progressive direction of reforms with a strong social support for a progressive constitution will likely bring us the devil we don't know. Democracy is a great thing in progressive nations but can be a back lashing tool in those who are not. Remember folks Adolph Hitler was democratically elected. Self determination and ultimately a form of democracy should be the goal of all nations, but some nations are just not ready nor progressive enough to attain it in ways that may leave them stable, progressive, more peaceful and generally free. janman
Bring democracy to Saudi Arabia and a host of other nations without progressive direction of reforms with a strong social support for a progressive constitution will likely bring us the devil we don't know. Don't we? I'm sure we've already seen it both in the middle East and south-central Asia lately. Democracy is a great thing in progressive nations but can be a back lashing tool in those who are not. Remember folks Adolph Hitler was democratically elected.Self determination and ultimately a form of democracy should be the goal of all nations, but some nations are just not ready nor progressive enough to attain it in ways that may leave them stable, progressive, more peaceful and generally free. Well said. Then again, what makes us Westerners think that this democracy thing, a fine concept we've invented ourselves, would work everywhere in the world and people around the globe would be willing to accept all its values or even know what the whole word means?
