If you're only going to be in central London then the Modelzone at Holborn is about the only viable option. Use the tube to get to Holborn station, then when you are leaving the station turn left into High Holborn, cross the road, walk about fifty paces and you are there. Holborn Modelzone is usually well stocked and there should be a pile of bargains in the middle of the floor.

Hendon is fine, but Hannants is in my opinion a waste of time, hardly anything in there for its size, without Hendon I'd felt "done" if I'd gone to Hannants specifically.... isn't it a franchise now too?
