ARK HERKY LOAD
I have a request please from the decal guys. I do not know if it has been talked about here yet, but with Revell-Monogram re-releasing it’s A-6 after the first of the year, can we please see some new decals for the Intruder? I would love to see some good late 70’s early 80’s hi vis markings from VA-35 Black Panthers (like the markings for the movie The Final Countdown) with the big cat on the tail or maybe some Blue Blaster action? I know that Aeromaster did some limited release back a long time ago with the Black Panthers markings, but that was a long time ago and limited. So to the decal guys please consider doing some good looking colorful Intruders (especially the black cat) I have a great KA-6D conversion that has been shelved waiting on some hi-Vis decals. Thanks so much for your consideration. Edited December 6, 2010 by ARK HERKY LOAD
jward
I'll second that - we've not seen any good A-6 decals in 1/48 in quite some time . . . . . somebody PLEASE give us Intruder fans something to spend our cash on!! Sunliner
I've got a couple of the old Revell A-6E's patiently waiting on some good Hi-Vis USMC decals to appear. -Mike
Sig Saur & Son
I'm certain someone is working on that request.
Jinxter13
VA-35 "Rocks yer Boat!!!!!", A set of decals similar to the ones on the Old odd scaled Fujimi Intruder, YES!!! with the large Panther on the tail with either AJ or NG...Enterprise or Nimitz will do nicely. and if at all possible some that served on Yankee station with that awesome "Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club" emblem emblazoned on the side :) :D , but I don't know a whole lot about Navy Squadrons. However the ones in the Movie "The Final Countdown" were awesome!!!. Edited December 6, 2010 by Angels49
Brian P: Fightertown Decals
We've got a few things lined up for Intruder fans. Won't say squadron specific info yet, but we've got quite a bit of material to cover and at least 2 sheets ready to go. Mostly late Intruders but there are two 'histories' in the mix. We we're waiting for the Kinetic release but... I'm curious to see if out VA-75 last cruise sheet will pick up traction with the re-release imminent.

VFA-103guy
I know of a certain decal company who asked Mr Brown for quiet a few refs for A-6 Intruders! Btw, thanks Dave for emailing us all those refs just before Thanksgiving. That was above and beyond!

Thanks so much for your consideration. Now this is good news. Love that model. Have a few in the stash. Only thing is the raised panel lines. But heck....I'm not picky. I was just glad to have an A-6 in 48th!!!
A6BSTARM
Hey for all the fleet squadrons don't forget the two RAGs either. I would love to see some decals for VA-42 and VA-128 in 72 and 48, and possibly 32 if trumpter every comes through.
airrex
What we need is (What I want really) Vietnam era decals for our intruders, 1/72 and 1/48. I fear as we move away from that conflict we will loose the folks with the means and the will to produce the decals. Yes the Intruder was great in Desert Storm. However, it was legendary in Vietnam. VFA-103guy
Vietnam era intruders eh? Damn...we went straight for the DS 1 markings. Not to worry, I'm on a Intruder/Prowler kick for the time being, so I'll ask MHaz if we can start looking into Vietnam era A-6's as well.
phantom
DS scheme I would like to see is for VA-65 (Tigers in case I have the wrong number) on board the Roosevelt. Never seen decals for them in any scale.

PlasticWeapons
I just got word we're going after Vietnam era A-6 refs. Decals for: Desert Storm? Yay! Vietnam? Yay! Small conflicts in between? Yay! (Hoping, LOL)
Skyraider Maniac
Saw an interesting picture of camo A-6E TRAM on google some time back - I don't know who's pic that was as google pulled it from someones photobucket - but that would be one heck of an option on any upcoming intruder sheets in 1/48. It wasn't any kind of SEA camo - but several different shades of green. Is there any more info on this bird?
Jinxter13
I just got word we're going after Vietnam era A-6 refs. Sounds better each time I read it, and if you can get squadrons that were on Yankee Station and members of the "Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club" that was a somewhat exclusive group, only US and Australian ships. Pretty much the whole danged Navy . Edited December 8, 2010 by Angels49

Reddog-03
My father-in-law was aboard the Constellation in '68. He has some photos of A-6's on the flight deck in a dark green over dark gray camo. It was supposed to be very effective for night attacks over Viet Nam but it was too hard to the crews to see them on deck at night so they discontinued it. I can't get to the photos right now but if you go to the "Don Color" web site, you can look up the paint scheme diagrams and FS paint numbers. http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/main_e.htm Look for the A-6A, 1965 Experimental Test Scheme.
