CF104
Hi All, This is my latest build. It's the Kinetic 1/48 E-2C Hawkeye. The kit has some issues but it it does look like a Hawkeye when completed. In addition to the Kinetic kit I added a set of SAC metal landing gear, Royale Resin wheels, Steel Beach cover set, Steel Beach seats(Can't really see them but, hey ), and Fightertown Decals E-2C Hawkeye VAW-115 Liberty Bells #48045R. BTW, it needed a lot of lead in the nose to keep it from being a tail sitter. Here are a few quick pics. Enjoy and as always any input on how to improve or change my building is appreciated. Cheers, John
Neo
Shes a beauty just dont really see the point in spending money on resin seats in this type of aircraft since you will never see them. Apart from that she dam near perfect Keep it up Neo

If I build another I'll use the kit seats. Cheers, John

Modelmkr
Nice. Shows what can be done with a kit that's a bit of a bear. It goes from a tail sitter to a TAIL SITTER with the wings folded. Are those the kit props? If they are, they came out nice and smooth. It's more like a limited run than a mainstream offering. There's copious amounts of filler in certain areas and the amount of weight added to keep this thing from siting on its tail is quite impressive. They are the kit props. I didn't like what Kinetic did with putting raised detail on them to show where the markings went. I sanded them smooth, painted the blades white, then added the black, red stripe and lastly the bare metal leading edge area. It took a bit of masking but looks way better than OOB. Thanks to all for the positive comments so far. Cheers, John
Kelly Quirk
Real nice work there, and you're one of the few I've seen that got the de-icer boots on the wing right.
Darren Roberts
That turned out great! In defense of resin seats, you can get a GLIMPSE of them at the right angle. Now, when it comes to colored PE, which I just put in mine, THAT'S a waste of time and money!

Sean Bratton
Great job on your Hawkeye, John. I like the look of the plug set, especially with the wings folded up. If I ever get around to building mine I'll have to get the set. Cheers, Sean
galileo1
Excellent rendition of the E-2. Didn't know these Kinetic kits could be made to look so good. I may, just may, pick one of these up next time I visit the LHS. Again, great job! Rob

11bee
Great job! My only observation is the complete lack of weathering. Never seen a clean Navy aircraft. However, that is 100% a personal choice. Regards, John
