galileo1
Funny this thread came up as I am currently trying to acquire a few 1/48 Hasegawa jets I used to own. Actually, I was just at my LHS looking for some of these kits this morning. As I received a gift card for my b-day I thought I'd try my luck. Well, I couldn't find any F/A-18s, F-14s, or F-15s in there. I asked the guy at the desk what happened to their once large stock of these jets and he said that because of the significant increase in prices for these models they are now only getting them by special order. He mentioned that they simply cannot move them out of the store due to the prices they have to charge (typically between $70 to $95). I ended up ordering a 1/48 F-14D (CVW) for the lowest price I could find, $63 retail. While in there searching their database (rather Stevens' database) for what to order, I saw almost all F/A-18C/D/E/Fs priced at $85 or more. Older boxings of some F-14s and F-15s also went for around that price. Online ordering is basically the same after you add shipping. In sum, if you're like me and are now wanting some these 1/48 kits, you either have to wait for deals to come about or bite the bullet and pay the price. I'm kicking myself now for having gotten rid of some of them a few years back. Oh well, hope I can pick some of these a bit cheaper direct from Japan when I take a trip down there in March. FCM
Why nobody has seen the F-18E / F from Revell-AG? I admit that the kit has some problems facing the Hasegawa kit, but considering the huge difference in price, and supply of good weapons with that, that comes a decent kit. I have several of them and do not intend to have a clash with a Hasegawa one...

Take a large suitcase with you when you go there. Make sure you take the minimum amount of clothes.
pollie
is that any different than the Revell USA rhino--the AG one I mean. I believe some boxings have slightly different weapons in them. But the kit is the same.
