Av8fan
Okay, okay, it could be two years off still. (I hope not) Sorry if I let my enthusiasm get the better of me.
Two Mikes
Notice I am not the one spreading this one.....Shame on you Mike if it 'taint true.... ;) Oh it is indeed true but I don't hold the cash so when it is released is not up to me. I am just helping the kit get off the ground. I will keep everyone posted as I am able to do so.

JeskiM
Well, if it is indeed 32nd scale, then I cannot think of any one other than Trumpeter doing it.....unless maybe Kinetic is looking to do another kit in that scale. I just hope it happens. - Matt
fulcrum1
So in order for it to be made in 1/48 I have to buy a 1/32 bird? No offense to the Viggen, but I have buttload of Trumpeter Mig-23's I need to buy.
loftycomfort
Purely speculation on my part on who's behind this project: Tamiya: ain't gonna happen and you know it Revell Germany: why would they go across the pond for expert help (not that I don't trust Mike's expertise) when they are so physically close to the real thing? Trumpeter: until they show the willingness to consult experts before they start cutting steel, I don't think it's them Kinetic: my odds-on fav. They're demonstrated the willingness to tackle less mainstream subjects AND listen to experts' opinions. Academy: another good possibility. Wingscale: dark horse. They're coming out with so many 1/32 kits that they could be a force to reckon with in a few years, but they are so new that I won't bet on them yet Terry Edited December 20, 2010 by loftycomfort
Berkut
Trumpeter: until they show the willingness to consult experts before they start cutting steel, I don't think it's themTerry I have been contacted (not that i regard myself an expert at anything) regarding the MiG-23 intakes, and helped out Song with the shape. He couldn't get them 100 % correct tho, due to cost. I am pretty sure others have been contacted in other projects. So it seems to be that Trumpeter is increasingly aware of the value of free help for common good... :) My coin still on Trumpeter.
thegoodsgt
Sounds promising. But even if it takes two or three years, the gods know I've got plenty to keep me busy in the meantime!
RichardL
Awesome news. 1/48 scale please.
SinisterVampire319
Fricken SWEET! I'll take one in 32nd and 48th. I want to know more......can't......wait.... :)
Matt Roberts
Don't get your hopes up too soon. From what I have been told this is still early in the process, basic data gathering. It'll be a while before we will even learn who it may be. The project is being designed and reserch being done. If any of you recall we started to hear about Trumpeters 32nd Jaguar about 3-4 years ago and saw the resin prototype a year or so ago, the kit still is not yet in the 2011 catalogue so that may give us an idea of how far out this is. I suspect that the next news may be late 2011. Matt Le Rumourmongre Edited December 22, 2010 by Matt Roberts
Av8fan
Thanks for the lowdown Matt. My enthusiasm did get the best of me. still, nice to know that there is one in the works. Who knows, I may actually stop getting glue/fingerprint reside marks on my kits by the time I order one.
Aigore
Hope they start with an AJ..... and that they understand that they have to make two different airframes for AJ and JA since the JA is bigger in the midsection,

But many of the self appointed experts wont ever see the headed writing paper because I dont know a single one who hasnt made some glaring mistake and dont shoulder some of the blame for it. They dont do so bad considering. People still buy despite the opinion of those "experts"
richter111
It will be interesting in that scale for sure. Now can we get a F-106?
mhoupt
Being that Mike and other American folks seem to be involved and in the know, and to my knowledge there is not a single Viggen in the USA (someone please correct me and tell me where if I am wrong), then my money is on Two Bob's or a Two Bob's / Two Mikes' project. They were tight on the T-2 kit and have been on some other things as well. After all, why would Trump (or anyone) go to someone in the US for assistance on an aircraft that is not in and (to my knowledge) has never flown in the US? Ahh, just having fun yapping about something I know nothing of. Just my .02 worth.

Ahh, just having fun yapping about something I know nothing of. Just my .02 worth. Does that matter? It reminds me of that airshow argument. "I have been to airshow and seen that aircraft, so i become expert on that aircraft". I am sure there is plenty of people outside Sweden that have a lot of knowledge about Viggen. There is numerous books and lots of information on the net, together with pictures and drawings. For example Ken (Flankerman) isn't Russian and there is no Su-27 in museums in UK etc, but he still knows more Flankers than most. :)
Av8fan
I have Mike's Viggen pieces. Very nice. And I can not see the point of doing/selling them if they aren't better then the kit part. Why not go to someone like Mike, who has obviously done a lot of research. Now, that being said, hopefully the company doing this can use the advice and get the complex shapes correct. Rivets and divots/lapped panel lines will be another whole discussion I am sure. Really can not wait for this. What year this has been for announcements and releases.
