What did you get for Christmas?

Recommended Posts

It's 1am Christmas morning......I checked under the tree and Santa brought me the 1/24 Aston Martin DBS....comes with photo etch.

I'm a big fan of the Vanquish.....and this is my little way of living my dream.

Lucky you, those suckers cost a few pennies, does it come with 007s L.I.C plates?

My wife and I don't get each other gifts,we put everything into eight grandchildren. We got our 5 year old a Paper Jamz guitar out fit and he has been Rock-in scince 6 o'clock this morning, He's ignored a pile of other gift's for that one. :jaw-dropping: I guess he was born cool like me.

No JB licence plates....rear plate says DBS. It's a well done kit with full engine detail. There is also stick on lettering for the top of the engine, mirrors and the DBS lettering on the trucnk lid....these parts are made from chomed metal and have the perfect look. Unfortunately no carbon fiber decals were included. There are some aftermarket wheels I might buy.

I have pondered doing it as it appearered after an accident as seen in the opening scenes to the most recent movie.......or as it appeared after the epic car crash roll over scene in Casino Royale.

Mind you.....it does look awfully pretty in red. :D

If it was cheaper, the chase scene damaged car would be a cool build. Vid of the real deal

Love the chase scene

I am not a fan of red on a brit car, Green :D yes http://www.netcarshow.com/aston_martin/200...allpaper_05.htm

My mother-in-law knows I build models, but nothing beyond that. Unaware of what type, scale or period. She walks into Hobby Lobby and chooses a model plane because she liked the cartoon character nose art on the box art. Blew me away when I unwrapped a 1/48 scale Academy F-86F-30! The exact model I'd been wanting, but had been putting off getting since they or not OOP yet. Very strange.

Those are great links Wayne...thanks.

There is a Le mans racing Aston model in resin....but it's a couple of hundred bucks.......those cars are in that lovely Aston Martin Green. As a side note.....one of the original 2 guys that founded Aston Martin....had the last name of Bamford.

Gateway 17" laptop. Wife got 2 of them...one for her and one for me from good old HSN. This way we can pay for them in 6 easy pay installments! :)

A gift certificate to Woodcraft from my in-laws.

A Harley-Davidson shirt

A subscription to Weekend Woodworker magazine

And this cool thing....an Ion slide and 35mm negative scanner. Now I can get all the old Kodachromes I have of years ago into digital format. Oh geez...we're gonna have to break out the honeymoon in Acapulco slide carousels from 1981!
