kurnass77
Hi guys, last Wednesday I finally handed over the Jaguar! Being an eager type (hence the fear of not finishing in time for the closing date of the GB) I started to work on the model despite the Tornado is still to be painted. A pics of the stuff. [/img] The work began as usual from the cockpit. [/img] [/img] I opened and detailed a little the main wheel bays . [/img] [/img] But very little will be visible with the model complete. [/img] Also, I opened the dorsal spine air inlet and cut the nose in preparation of the LRMTS reconstruction. [/img] [/img] And start to rework the NLG [/img] [/img] Can anyone help me by posting some pictures of the dual bomb racks carried by the Jag ? I intend to load the model with a fuel tank and four GP bombs but the kit does not provide these dual bomb racks... Merry Christmas, Gianni
Stefan buysse
Fantastic work again, Gianni. Eclipsing what I did on the kit with ease. Someone will probably have pictures of the real bomb rack. I will assemble the Flightpath item and take pictures later in the day. Cheers, Stefan.
Tripio
Hi Gianni, I was only joking about the DS Jaguar, but as I see you did not hesitate at all... Good start, keep it that way. Regards,Laz P.S.: How about a Victor refuelling all the aircrafts you've built for this GB? Just kidding again.
Stefan buysse
Hi, Here's a shot of the Flightpath bombracks, with an Italeri Jaguar's Sidewinder to give an idea of the dimensions. I have not assembled the bombracks, because a question came up. There are two types of what I'll call "British sway braces": big ones and small ones. In the picture, I have arranged 4 of each type around one of the bombracks. I'm not sure if the small ones or the big ones should go on this bombrack. Maybe the big ones are for the centerline pylon? Spike? Cheers, Stefan.

Stefan buysse
Sorry mate, not much experience with the Jag..Does this help? Thanks, Spike. The picture could be displayed so large that it actually helped. :D I compared both types with the picture and I'm pretty sure that I should use the small ones on this type of bombrack. Cheers, Stefan.
Stefan buysse
Hi, Having found the Flightpath instructions, I can indeed confirm that the small sway brace fairings are to be used. It also occurred to me that I could just measure the things instead of posing a Sidewinder next to them. The rack is 1mm wide, 2,8mm high and 56mm long. Cheers, Stefan. kurnass77
Hi guys; Spike,Stefan many thanks for the bomb racks info! In parallel with the Tornado I continued to work on the Jaguar. The NLG and its bays are finished [/img] [/img] [/img] Also finished one of the MLG ( yes, only one, the detail work has taken me a whole afternoon! ); please compare it with that of the kit. [/img] [/img] Dry fitted [/img] The pit done; in reality there are still some small details but I will add them to paint over, however, I must admit to being quite happy with the result. Although not specified in the instructions I have weighted the nose to avoid a possible tailslitter [/img] [/img] With the Pavla seat [/img] That's all; What do you think? See you at the next update. :D Gianni
Benner
wow, pretty wicked detailing. I didn't even like putting wire on my 1:48 Jaguar gear ... can't imagine 1:72.
PIERRE CHRISTIAN BAUDRU
Great job so far ! I will follow your build. Pierre
kurnass77
Hi guys; Benner, Pierre many thanks for your words. Today progress:taking advantage of the black used for the Tornado preshading I painted the bang seat and the cockpit. Unfortunately it is completely black (and with my limited skills as a photographer), the pit is not very good in photos ... [/img] [/img] [/img] Also worked on the nose and I tried to make some kind of air duct [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] And small detail like the speedbrake bay, the belly pylon and various air scoop that Revell missed. [/img] [/img] [/img]
Sebastijan
Nice progress! :)

arkhunter2002
Nice detailing job! Always love seeing it in 1/72. Take care, Austin
kurnass77
Hi boys! Austin many thanks! With the Tonka on stand-by I went ahead with the detail work of my Desert Cat. I try to add here and there the rivets ( not a perfect job as Honza but we must learn to walk before you run! ) especially in the Phantom-style exhaust area. [/img] [/img] Vertical and horizontal stabs and the wing area [/img] [/img] [/img] I reworked the 30 mm Aden gas vent (?) [/img] With the info provided by Stefan I realized the bombracks. [/img] Now I will continue to work on the rest of the details (especially the air intakes, a tedious job because I can not find anywhere the house latex paint to adopt this technique ) and probably I will build the ladder. Stay tuned and thanks for all. Gianni
Stefan buysse
Great work on everything, Gianni. Awesome job on the scratchbuilt pylon...it looks just like the Flightpath part. Cheers, Stefan.
kurnass77
Many thanks Stefan but without your help I can't make nothing! Gianni

kurnass77
Hi guys; thanks for your support. Without an operable airbrush I have very little to do but keep the details of the model. I first repainted the cockpit, the first attempt with the drybrush did not satisfy me (it's a too crude technique, normally I use it only for the terrains of my figures). [/img] [/img] The air intakes fit very bad and required a lot of putty:I still have to restore the lost panel lines. [/img] On the other hand I have finished working on the intake's air ducts and the engine compressor faces , the latter obtained from some kind of gear I had in my stash and painting with brush the individual fan blades with the technique of trompe l'oeil . [/img] [/img] I have also brought to the correct shape the speedbrakes, scratch the actuators and detailed the MLG doors. Before [/img] After [/img] [/img] [/img] And that's all, thanks for looking. Gianni
Rampage55
Wow Gianni!...The level of detail you are able to achieve in 1/72 is amazing. Keep it up!... Mark
kurnass77
Hi Mark , many thanks for your words, much appreciated! I think that in the ARC there are great model masters, I am here to learn and share with you all my work, hoping (with your help) we can improve! Now I'm waiting the fluid nozzle for my airbrush... Gianni
kurnass77
Hi guys; here are the pictures of my progress on the Jaguar. As you can see I still have sand the filled areas and rescribing some panel lines, I hope to start as soon as possible the preshading! [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] And that's all and thanks for looking! Gianni
kurnass77
Hi mates, I made some progress in my little feline. Here are the photos. [/img] [/img] [/img] As I was painting the Tornado LGBs I had the opportunity to paint even the bombs of the Jaguar ... [/img] I also painted with Light Aircraft Grey the landing gears still to be finished of course! . [/img] [/img] [/img] That's all, more pics as soon as possible. P.S. I think to make Katrina Jane  Gianni
