yardbird78
Please post up what you want to build here! I ask that you post just one time in this thread for each model that you want to enter. Once you are ready to start progress reports, please start a separate thread. That way, this thread won't get too conjested. Thanks, Darwin Edited January 1, 2011 by yardbird78
yardbird78
I will be building this 1/48 Monogram F9F-5P Photo bird from the US Navy. I know, being a career USAF person, building a Navy bird is almost treasonist or sacriligious, but the Navy has some pretty good folks also. masterqq
I will build 1/72 AIrfix Spitfire PR XIX
phantom
Well. I'm thinking a RF-4 still. Not sure which today. Perhaps a CF-104. I would like to do 104900 the day it was given away but I can not confirm if it was Olive or still silver back in 73/74.
texgal45
Definately the 1/72 Monogram SR-71A, probably in the markings of 17971 during the 1995-1997 reactivation period. Grandma L Step one: start here Step two: open box Step three: pour in one bottle glue Step four: stir Step five: spread out on medium sized cookie sheet Step six: allow to dry overnight, maybe a week Step seven: dip in large can of black paint Step eight: hang up and allow to dry another week Step nine: apply decals Step ten: dip in large can of clear, satin varnish Step eleven: hang up and allow to dry another week Step twelve: done
Marlin
Hi, I'm in with three different Recce Mirage III's from the IDF/AF. Looking very much forward to this GB. /Bosse
Jan-Pawel
My choice is the ANF Les Mureaux 117 (1/72, Heller kit). And if I have enough time after... Maybe I'll try to do another kit (RF-4, Viggen... don't know exactly)...
Pete
I'm in. Not sure with what yet, maybe a Danish RF-35 Draken, if I can find decals for it. A Phantom is an option too.... I'll think of something.
Unit19
Looking at 1 or 2 of these; HobbyCraft Lockheed RT-33A, Hawk Lockheed U-2A or the Heller Republic RF-84F Thunderflash. I gotta go through and see what decals and after-market I have/need for each one. I'd like to do the RF-84F in Shaw AFB markings, and the U-2 as the one shot down over Cuba. yardbird78
Texgal45, Marlin, Jan-Pawel, Pete and Unit19, Welcome aboard. Your names are added to the list. If anyone wants to use the GB badge in my sig block, feel free to do so. Please copy, paste and use your host storage facility. If anyone wants to design a different one, that is fine also. F106A
Darwin, Looks like you got the year wrong on the build logo. (Don't we all wait until January to make that mistake?!) I'm very tempted to try my hand at an RS Models, 1/72, Dornier Do-17P, but haven't made up my mind yet. Squadron has them on sale in the January 2011 (p. 17) catalog for $24.99. Something about that flying pencil... http://www.rsmodels.cz/?link=view&id=92022 Mark Edited December 30, 2010 by F106A
yardbird78
Mark, Thanks for pointing out my "Ooooops". It's been fixed. I claim a "senior moment" as my excuse. You are welcome to jump in with the Dornier or something else. Darwin
gonzalo
I will be building a RF-4 not sure which one though USAF or USMC

Aaronw
Just confirming that I will be doing the Airfix BV-141 as listed, but it will probably be a few days so I can clear up some stray kits on my work bench. I also found I have the Airfix FW-189 so I may do the two side by side. Just checking that shipborne naval scout planes are also acceptable for this build as well? I'm thinking Arado Ar-196, Grumman Duck, Vought Kingfisher etc.
yardbird78
Just checking that shipborne naval scout planes are also acceptable for this build as well? Anything that gets into the air and gathers intelligence data is good to go. A scout plane spotting fall of shot patterns for the big guns and/or doing beyond visual range reconnaissance would definately do that. F106A
You are welcome to jump in with the Dornier or something else. After further contemplation I've decided "something else." The Accurate Miniatures 1/48 F-6A. It should be here in three or four days. Now to clean up the work bench! Mark

mikestomcat
Hi, I'm new new to ARC and was wondering if it's to late to start this GB? I would like to build a RF-4E, possibly from Japan. Thanks Mike.
yardbird78
We are only 5 days into a 6 month GB, so there is plenty of time. Welcome aboard. Do you know the kit manufacturer and scale? Darwin Edited January 5, 2011 by yardbird78

Do you know the kit manufacturer and scale?Darwin Hi, yes it's a 1/48 Hasegawa RF-4EJ. It's from 501stSQ ARG J.A.S.D.F. It will be painted in a two tone green and tan camo as it was at the 1994 Air Combat Meet. I'll include scratchbuilt details, as well as resin seats, electronic bay, camera bay, seamless suckers, afterburner cans and a hard wing flap down set. I tried making my photo bigger but couldn't figure it out ;) Thanks Mike.
