Bigasshammm
lol <_< My wife hates it too. Its massive! I've wanted that for YEARS. It's really not much bigger than a 48 B-17 though, just taller.
Kostucha
Guys, guys, guys... do we really need to compare size here? (Afterall, my 1/24 Mosquito is the biggest)

Army_Air_Force
I'm saying nothing about size. ;)
Kostucha
I'm saying nothing about size. ;) I was going to say "Little Man Syndrome"... but let's call a spade a spade... I was certainly put in my place with that picture. Especially given the fact that you've got more of the "Lady Types" around that Fort than I've ever had around my models in all my years of this hobby...combined. Well played Sir... well played. Shawn M
I love this thread, you guys are the best! Pic of where I am so far.
Kostucha
I'm liking it! You drilled out the holes at the very front of the floor in the nose, nice touch! Great job with the drybrushing bringing out the details up on the IP, and other places like the radio's and equipment up in the radio compartment. Superb job so far Sir! Mark. 100th BG
Good Ol' Monogram, with just a little effort, that kit builds up quite nicely straight from the box. Keep 'er going Shawn.
Shawn M
thanks guys! I forgot how much fun assembling is vs. scratch building!
Kostucha
thanks guys! I forgot how much fun assembling is vs. scratch building! Ya... thanks. let me know how much fun it is...
Shawn M
Its great! You take part x from sprue, clean it up, paint it and attach it to another! this is a nice break for me, although it is hard to resist the urge to remake things...
Kostucha
Scratch building or not, it's looking really good! And as you're making a Fort III, you'll have enough little details to take care of on your own anyway - best of both worlds! Cheers, Mark.
Shawn M
True! So far I made machine gun portal block offs for the cheeks, easy. I need to make the curtains for the radio room before I closer her up, I have the fabric and a plan. I decided that adapting my pilots and crew for the build is more work then I care to do. She'll be a "ghost ship" flying crew less.
Kostucha
Ghost Ship - creeeeepy. It'll look good I'm sure though! Cheers, Mark.
Shawn M
maybe I should make little tissue ghosts
Shawn M
well, I JUST figured out what the "Non standard tail gunner position" means on my refs. Its a hybrid of Std. and Cheyenne tail glazing! Looks like Im scratch building after all.
Kostucha
You can't escape the scratch building... Need any spare parts? Let me know, I've got both the kit Cheyenne and original tail turret.
Shawn M
You can't escape the scratch building... Need any spare parts? Let me know, I've got both the kit Cheyenne and original tail turret. May take you up on that, the glazing for the Cheyenne especially! So the interior is all painted up now. Curtain made for the radar operator (also hides the lack of gear I didn't make.) Since I've decided to go window less in the waist positions, I had to figure out a machine gun mount. A little brass here, a little there and voila! Gun mounts. Pics: 50 cal with brass mount 50 cal mounted, inside 50 cal mounted, outside Gun Mount

But, your work does look good. Great solution with the curtains, looking pretty good. As well as the rest of the bomber. Cheers, Mark.
B-17 guy
Looking good shawn! I like what you did with the tail wheel.
Shawn M
Thanks gang, I have to add the rest of the windows tonight, the flight deck then seal 'er up! My fuse halves are SERIOUSLY warped so this is gonna take some CA and some patience.
