john borgerding
HS made two different props. Early and late war, early war HS were cuffed used by the D's made in Englewood,CA  (NA)  The K's were made in the Dallas Plant (NT) with the Aeroproducts prop which was uncuffed and hollow and were known to cause vibration and underpower. Many pilots had them switched out in the field to the HS cuffed prop which cured these problems, however, late in the war HS made their own uncuffed prop which was used mostly in late war Pacific and onward, it was more fuel efficient, and you see them now on most reconditioned mustangs. Try not to confuse them with the Aeroproducts props
Slartibartfast
You saw many uncuffed HS props on Korean War Mustangs.
