Tamiya Lotus 79 Getting Started

Recommended Posts

The powertrain assy is pretty much done now. I'm going to get some turned trumpets instead of using the stock ones. They are a prominent part of the car and should look the part.

I'm not real impressed with where all of the mold pin marks are on the chassis and venturi tunnel. Lots of cleaning up to do. Getting into the nooks and cranny's in the footbox has been fun. And, there are two plates that have to be added to the rear of the upper body work to fill in missing scoops that are used on the next years (Martini) car. Apparently Tamiya felt like making only one mold. Still, all the parts fit nice and tight.

Chassis and venturi picture link here!

Happy modeling!

Kurt

I got side tracked... working to finish-up a Fisher Pattern 312P and a Tamiya Tesi 906. I need to clear up some space! The Lotus will resume soon.

Oh that is good to know...Look forward to more updates...Thanks for letting us know where you are at !
