Wingscale 1:32 B-25 Mitchell done

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Mid december I got in touch with Martin, the owner of Wingscale, and he asked me to build one of the upcoming 1:32 B25's he's about to release. Today he is off to the toyfare in Germany and the model is on display there, so I had a couple of intensive weeks with this kit to get it finished in time. This is a preproduction model, so there were no etchings and no decals. All you see is in the box I got, nothing extra has been added with one exception: I asked Mal Mayfield of Miracle masks to cut me masks of a scheme that will be offered with decals. I'm convinced that masks work better in this scale and I'm pretty pleased with the result. I had a great time with this kit: detailed where it should be, great fit, accurate as far as I can tell (I'm not a B25 specialist) and a wonderful platform for superdetailing. I hope you enjoy the pics of the finished model, all comments welcome as usual! Happy modelling, Jeroen

Note: Tony Bell was so kind to put all the WIP pics in his photobucket account: if you want to have a look:

Jeroen, that is outstanding!

I have been watching your progress on HS with this one, and I cannot believe how you can build with such quality in the timeframe you had, they certainly picked the right guy for the job, thats for sure.

It turned out absolutetly first class! :jaw-dropping:

Cheer's,

Jeff.

For the size of it I say Wing Scale did a great job. Plus you did a super job of it as well. I can't wait to see there Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress that is what I want for my birthday this year. The month it is to be is the same month as my birthday what a nice deal that is. My wife told me I could get only one not all 12,731 of them like the real B-17 was made.

That is a very good looking airplane model Jeroen.

Impressive detailing I might add.

That's cool that Martin asked you to build it to display at the show.

It will certainly get some well deserved attention.
