Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Thank you for your comments.

Hi Alexander

outstanding job. I realy love the fabric effect on the seats, it is pot on.

You are sure the central part of the harness (the roundel) is not too big ?

again, love your work

Norbert

Hi Norbert,

Thanks for the interest and comment.

BTW, I'm a fan of you job too and follow your threads with much interest.

As for the 'roundel', I think it's really that big as I could judge after examining refering pics.

Anyways, we may ask our Kiowa experts over here. ;)

Cheers!

Alexander

Once upon a time a modeller comes along and well lets say, blows you away by his ability to bring little pieces of plastic into a masterpiece......Alexander you are that guy.

Truly amazing. I always loved the Kiowa, it was my very first entry into model competition.

Cant wait to see more of this magic.

Hi guys,

Here I am again with small update on the pedals. But firstly I have to say my huge thank you for those sweet words Rotorman and Kiki said.

Thank you guys, I'm really flattered. You caressed my vanity. :)/>/>/>

Well, into the update. I'm not to launch into a screed on how I did this or those part but just to post the pics.

Anyway, any questions are welcome.

Bravo Sir, Very Well Done. Make sure you add a bunch of sand and grass clippings under the foot pedals when you close this area up with the chin bubbles. It is amazing the kind of things I have found in this area over the years.

Thank you KiowaFixer,

I'm happy you like my build.

As for spraying some dust onto the chin bubbles, the idea is nice. I actually added some but so that not to overdo it.

Well, some more progress on my Kiowa.

I have added some bits and pieces all over the body.

Hi Alexander

So many details. You did something special to get that irised effect on the windscreen ?

following this with respect

Norbert

Hi Norbert.

Sorry for so delayed reply. But better late than never. :)/> Time really flies.

Well, first I used #2000 sand paper on both inner and outer surfaces of the canopy and then I treated the surfaces with Tamiya

polising compaund, finish, with the use of soft clothing like that stuff one can find inside, hope so, of every cellphone kit.

Thank you guys for the input.

I will post some updates very soon that there are lots. ;)/>

Cheers!

More updates, please.....

Eastern, do you know if zactoman will release an interior detail set?

Rod.

Hi Rod,

I haven't heard fron Chris since October. He just typed he was too much busy.

As for the interior set, he was about to resin cast those bits and pieces that he poured the molds and sent me all the parts

yet ages ago. So I of no clue what he is up to for now.

Cheers!

Hi guys,

I think it's about time for some updates. Too much water flowed by since I last posted any updates so there are some.

The first ones are how I upgraded the tail rotor.

First I cut it into pieces just to leave only the blades to be used.

Then I drilled hole 0.2 mm diam at the smaller end of each blade that then to fit each blade to a central part I soldered beforehand using 0.2 mm diam drill bit and brass wire. Just like that:

51947-c2e0d-83220962-m549x500-ua61a1.jpg

After the blades had been glued to the central part I drilled holes in each blade where compensators (or how they call them)

are to be mounted. After that I used a brass wire to fix it where the hole was with CA glue:

Then you just cut the ends leaving about 1 mm from both sides:

Then I made those hickeys fixed on the root ends of the blades:

After that I made compensators (?):

Well, to cut it short, this is how the tail rotor looked like after all those bits and pieces have been cobbled up together:

More soon. ;)/>/>
