Eastern
Sharkmouth, Ray, thank you guys for the feedback. Hi everybody, Some more updates. I've finished the tail rotor and this is how it looks for now: Now into the colored lenses. To help fixing them on their places I managed to drill out holes both in the lenses and in the stabilizer tips, just like that: Then I used a piece of drilling bit, treated with a sandpaper from one end, and then inserted it into the hole in the lense: After that you're just to insert the bit with the lens into the hole in the stabilizer tip: More updates soon. Cheers! Alexander

As for the nav lights,I used the in-kit ones, just sanded them and then slightly polished. If you mean them to be found in the exterior set, I think the in-kit ones are OK. Cheers! Eastern
Hi guys, Floyd, Norbert, thanks much for the input. Well, now into the lower wire cutter. I used only the upper portion of the in-kit cutter. All other parts I managed to replace with ones made of brass and plastic. This is how it turned out: Hope you'll like it. :)/> Cheers! rotorwash
I must go hang my head in shame at calling myself a modeler after looking at stuff like this! Seriously though, Alexander, you are freaking amazing, man! Ray
Eastern
I must go hang my head in shame at calling myself a modeler after looking at stuff like this! Seriously though, Alexander, you are freaking amazing, man! Ray Hi Ray, You're not gonna blame youself, believe me. All you do with your own hands is commendable and nice. You ARE a modeller! Hi guys, Thanks much for your kind words and encouraging me. This time I'm not gonna post any updates (but promise to do otherwise very soon). I'm here with a request, if you please. :)/> I'm considering making the blade-folding kit but the pics short. I would much appreciate your sending me some nice images of the kit shot from different angles. The detailed pics are much welcome. Thank you in advance. Eastern
Norbert, Oliver, thank you guys for your encouraging me. BUT HOW ABOUT THE PICS? Cheers! Alexander
A T Lee
Wonderful fabulous work, Alexander. You're not building a model, your creating a museum piece. I look forward to seeing further progress, and eventually, the finished product when you are done.
norbert
Hi Alexander Checked my pics, I have nothing. I'm even not sure that the blades fold from what I have, so you may have more than myself. norbert Edited January 23, 2015 by norbert
HeavyArty
I'm even not sure that the blades fold from what I have... The blades of an OH-58D can be folded for transport, but are not power-folded like a naval aircraft. Bolts have to be removed and a locking bar put in their place. Eastern
Hi guys, Now I eventually can show you some teasing pics. ;)/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/> This is how my Kiowa looks like at the moment I'm typing this: I hope you'll like it. What left to do is to build the blade-folding kit. Still I'm the images short. Hey guys, if someone have those pics, please, share them with me, if possible. Thanks in advance. Cheers! Rotorman
I really dig it. it looks like the real thing to me. I like the light color wash. Oliver
Eastern
Hi Oliver, Glad you like it. I actually used no wash on the surface. I used only natural cement dust applying it with the use of little soft brush. Before using the dust I just airbrushed the surface here and there with a bit lighter color.
