Royal wedding publicity over done.

Recommended Posts

Is it just me or has the news over done it with stuff about the upcoming Royal wedding. When I was a young boy, I recalled how exciting Charles and Diana's wedding day was. With today's access to so much on it, I don't think I'll watch it. When it was announced, I was going to watch but all this and that about it on tv and the net has made me tire of the thought. I'm more excited with building a kit so I guess on that day I'll do that or somethingelse more exciting than sit in front of the telly on April 29, 2011.

I don't want to see or hear anything about it. If I see or hear ONE thing its overdone. I could care less.

I couldn't give a rats wotsit about it to be honest, and the UK medias insistance that we will all be celebrating the wedding because there will be a national holiday is quite frankly laughable.

Its just the same old celebrity culture with a royal stamp on it, and the whole lot of it is just as vacuous.

You know... I used to be a Royalist at heart. Untill it started to be "The Firm", and troublemaking board members were 'encoraged' to leave.

And I do wish them, and the popularity boost this will give Britain; the best of luck.

but - enough already, there IS such a concept as too much of a good thing !

What I"m getting a kick out of is the women on the West side of the big pond, who are trying so very hard to pressure him into wearing a ring that he's said he doesn't want to. Who the hell do they think they are. It's really laughable to hear some of these feminists going it over this thing. As is said in Blighty, "They should all bugger off!" Hal Sr

One of the most eligible bachelor's in the world getting married in front of millions of people on TV and they think he should wear a ring to show he's married? Weird.

What I fail to understand is why anybody gives a flying doodah WHAT he wears on his finger, he can wear a pancake on his head and a pink jumpsuit for all I care, its none of my business.

This time next month the press will be going doolally printing replica copies of the menu cards on the tables at the reception.

I don't really care about any of it and I do a pretty good job of avoiding it in the media (whether it be TV, radio or print). If people put half as much interest and effort into issues that really matter in the world it would be a much better world we live in.

I couldn't give a flying one about the wedding, so to avoid all the nonsense I'm buggering off on holiday to miss it all.

I hate all that rubbish. Like when Diana died, and everyone thought the Brits were consumed by grief. Apart form a load of middle-aged women most of us didn't give a stuff about her funeral. My mates and I had a BBQ instead.

Maybe I'm avoiding the hype somehow but it doesn't seem to be as big a deal as when Charles and Diana got married in, what , 1981 ? :P

As for all you good folks in the UK, I feel for you though ...

Actually, they're giving us a day off over here, but seeing as I'm self employed I doubt I'll be taking it.

As I am retired - and so won't really get a day off work - can I have the money instead ??? :wasntme:

I'll be glad when it's all over.
