'Ironmen' at Mildenhall

Recommended Posts

Gents,

Highlight at Mildenhall today was 'Iron 18' (VQ-3) on the climbout for his latest mission around the UK. He turned up during the week and has been flying daily, with several complete orbits of the UK before returning to Mildenhall. Probably one of the best colours to shoot against a slightly murky but bright day.

Just one extra from yesterday afternoon. If anybody was able to watch the coverage of the Royal wedding in the UK yesterday, then you may noticed after the main flypast and when the royal couple drove out of the palace, a RAF Search & Rescue Sea King appeared low level over the crowds and car as a suprise extra (I'm sure most here know the Duke is a serving RAF SAR pilot). This is the aircraft involved departing Wattisham for central London (despite press reports otherwise, it came from Wattisham and not the Duke's own flight at Valley).
