ZD951 is the same aircraft as the white shown much above, in the sand painting applied for "Desert storm".

But is a different model kit with the refueling probe and extended front gear added, and the moving stab modification.

I'll try to post better pictures in day light conditions.

Probing glances may have noticed that on the white one, the high speed ailerons are too short (not as long as they should be). This kind of thing that I had not notice at first. They have been corrected on this one,

Another notable thing about the Hasegawa RAF kit. The decals cannot be used as such on a -500.

The details (doors, windows, roundels) have been oversized to figure out a three doors configuration in the space of four through out the fuselage. It works with a full size Tristar (-200) to fool the eye. Not anymore on the shorter -500.

For a "normal" Tristar see here :

I like the idea as well to have 2 different liveries on 1 plane, that save quite a lot of space at home,

Cheers,

Boz

The reason why is told down here post #13 :

http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=176913

But it sure does save space.

I did it for fighters as well :

After some brainstorming, I finally managed (like I did on the B-747) to get the stab moving as you may notice on the pictures :

This B-727 is a different model than the one shown earlier above,  though it sports the same  livery and registration :

Another one on the way to be completed. Only the engines are missing.

You can compare different aircraft sizes with these pictures showing an MRJ (1/200th FineMolds), next to a GE Nx for B-787 and the B-767 or the DC-8 (Doyusha).

AV O,

Tell me (us) about the "runway" base.  Is it home made or is it available for purchase somewhere?

LOL ! seems to be a lot of airlines landing about 1000 ft short of the touchdown zone.   😄   👍

C-40A Clipper  (Hasegawa 1/200)

This aircraft is a kind of WIF.

It was seen with this livery without winglets :

and later with them but in a more dull scheme :

You may have a notion of their size (cm) :

One more.

The Right side is set with the R/R engine, Left side is with G/E. Apart from the engine, only the Reg. number is different.

The challenge in decorating was to align properly windows decals, doors and the blue stripe as no window is stamped on the fuselage.

Next on the bench :

DC-8-62-63.png

I had some troubles with the DC-8-73 as I was about to take  pictures of it, completed and decorated.

Dropping it caused damages to the gears, engines and other things breaking.

One wing separated as well. So I took the opportunity of taking a picture of her next to her twin in the process. A DC-8-72.

Others are following.
An A321 (left)  and A320 (right) :
A321-A320.png

After these, the 1/200th series will be over, together with the A300-600 :

A300-600.png

You can have an idea of the evolution on the wing designs comparing the DC-8-72 and the A321 which is almost as long.
