Air Compressor Question

Recommended Posts

On larger units, it would be a good idea, since the moisture trapped inside could, eventually cause a rust spot and lead to tank failure. This would occur while the unit was under pressure. Need not tell you the effects of such an action. Smaller units would benefit from regular bleeding, as well. Safe modeling, Jim

I'm not sure if it needs to be done each and every time, but I usually bleed my tank about once a week. Usually, you'll only get a few drops of water to come out, but it's better on the workshop floor than it is inside your air tank, rusting it out from the inside..... ;)
