Tim Bradley
Greetings all, Question to the group: Do any of the 1/72 DC-3/C-47 kits come with a passenger door? It looks like to get a left side pass door, I would need to get the OZ Mod passenger door replacement for my Italeri C-47. Is this my only option? Thanks, Tim
TheFlyingDutchman
Some issues of this kit (released by Italeri, Revell and Airfix) come with a drop-in part with an engraved passenger door. However, I don't know exactly which of them has it included, the only ones I'm sure of is the Revell Swissair/KLM release and the Airfix RCAF/BEA release. :)
Trojan Thunder
The Finnair/Finnish Airforce issue of the Revell kit also has the option. Edited June 7, 2011 by Trojan Thunder
Jennings
Just be aware that the kit is still a C-47 even with a pax door...
TheFlyingDutchman
Just be aware that the kit is still a C-47 even with a pax door... And what are the differences? The kit has a lot of options in antennae, air inlets, fairing on the tail, extra passenger window etc.. just the engines are of the post-war type so a pre-war civilian aircraft cannot be made OOB. Tim Bradley
Thanks guys for the info on the kits. DC-3 had the rear cargo door aft of the passenger door. All the other items were mixed and matched with different airlines, engines, cowls, etc. Tim
